THE GAME FIELD

The game field is the same as the one for R-Play Speed Competition (Figure 1).

1. Area: 10 m × 10 m in a square form.
2. The floor of the game field is made of 2 mm thick dark vinyl sheeting. The surface of the sheets is joined by non-shiny vinyl tapes.
3. The game field is surrounded by a wooden fence 10 cm high and 3 cm thick.
4. The game field consists of two Start Zones (blue and red colored).
5. 3 cm-wide white guidelines are marked as 50 cm × 50 cm grids on the game field
6. Each team has its own pearls storage; 4 pearls for each storage are located at 2 locations (2 pearl at each location)
7. Each team has 2 islands to put their pearls
8. The pearls are in the shape of cylinder (inner diameter = 10 cm, outer diameter = 30 cm, height = 20 cm, weight = 300g). Pearls are made of high-density polystyrene.
9. The islands are in the shape of cylinder (36 cm in diameter, 23 cm height)

THE ROBOT

1. Each team must design and construct robot(s) to compete in the contest. The maximum number of robots per team is 3. All robot(s) must fit in the space of 1 m × 1 m Start Zone with maximum overall height of 1.5 m.
2. Once the robot leaves Start Zone after the game begins, its form may be changed freely and it may separate. However, the maximum size of each robot is 2 m height and 1.5 m width.
3. Everything separates from the robot is considered as another robot, so it must work as a robot too.
4. The robot is operated autonomously, which is started by one operation. As soon as the game begins, no manual intervention should be applied to the robot.
5. Voltage of the robot’s electrical power supply must not exceed 24 VDC.
6. The total allowable weight of all robots for each team to be used throughout the contest must not exceed 50kg.
7. There is no limitation in the types of motors and sensors used for the robot.

THE MATCH

1. The duration of each run must not exceed 3 minutes. The first team to complete all islands wins the match
2. In the beginning of the game, the all robot should be fitted inside Start Zone.
3. The robot can go to any place inside the game field, including the black and white zones.
4. Each team has one “retry” per game. After a “retry” request is granted by the Referee, team member(s) must bring the robot back to Start Zone and restart the robot as soon as possible.
5. No penalty score is applicable during the game, however the team could be disqualified if:

• Performing any act that harmful to the referees and the spectators.
• Attempting to damage the game field.
• Attempt to disturb other team’s robots

THE ROBOT

1. Each team must design and construct robot(s) to compete in the contest. The number of robots per team is unlimited, however all robot(s) must fit in the space of 1 m × 1 m Start Zone with maximum overall height of 1.5 m.
2. Once the robot leaves Start Zone after the game begins, its form may be changed freely and it may separate. However, the maximum length of extension of the robot is 2 m. The use of rope as an extension is not allowed.
3. Everything separates from the robot is considered as another robot, so it must work as a robot too.
4. The robot is operated autonomously, which is started by one operation. As soon as the game begins, no manual intervention should be applied to the robot.
5. Voltage of the robot’s electrical power supply must not exceed 24 VDC.
6. There is no limitation on the robot’s weight.
7. There is no limitation in the types of motors and sensors used for the robot.

THE MATCH

1. Each team will run the robot individually.
2. The robot moves from Start Zone to reach Finish Zone. The elapsed time between the beginning of the game and the arrival of the robot at Finish Zone is recorded.
3. In the beginning of the game, the whole part of the robot should be fitted inside Start Zone. After the game is started, the whole part of the robot should move out of Start Zone.
4. The timer will be stopped when any part of the robot touches Finish Zone.
5. During the game, the robot cannot go out of the game field.
6. The robot can go to any place inside the game field, including the black and white zones.
7. The duration of each run must not exceed 3 minutes.
8. The winners of the contest are the robots with the shortest time to reach Finish Zone. However, in the case of no single robot can reach Finish Zone, the winner will be determined by the shortest distance between the position of the robot when the game is over (after 3 minutes) and the center of Finish Zone.
9. No penalty score is applicable during the game, however the robot could be disqualified if:

• Leaving the game field.
• Performing any act that harmful to the referees and the spectators.
• Attempting to damage the game field.
